Do they deploy on your next loading of your game? For some reason high TC screws up the mechanics of the planes to deploy or sometimes retracting. Usually just an eyesore until your next loading of your game.

I've found that if I start the game from a saved game where the boat was already at depth when I saved, the planes will always appear folded as if for surface running (no matter how many times I surface, dive, crash dive, whatever). As long as I save game with the boat on the surface, then when I load those saved games, the planes work properly.

This isn't necessarely related to saved games. It is most likely related to an animation problem that occurs at high TC.

That may be true too. I know for me though, time compression has nothing to do with it. If I start from a saved game with the boat already submerged, the planes will never deploy. If I start from a saved game with the boat on the surface, the planes will deploy correctly, and I can use all the TC I want, they'll still keep working.
