Default [TEC] Taking out sensor.dat out of TM 1.5

With AI all being Uber in spotting you in the worst conditions I decided to lower their ability to find me underwater to even things up a bit.

Note:
With high winds going over 10kts, fog being dense enough for me not to be able to spot a target beyond 1500yds all in which they can find me without any problems and their ability of being able to see me at 4500 to 5000yds in fair weather.

I wanted to see the change of taking out the AI sensor.dat.

After taking that particular file out of the TM 1.5 and enabling the Mod again I found that after the DD’s lost me, they didn’t return to their original course / task… they just sat there, engines off… At first I thought they where listening but after 1.5Hrs they hadn’t moved 1 inch (got curious after 45min’s and placed a marker over them).
This happened while attacking a convoy which more or less continued on its course after the first vessel got smashed.

Could it be that the sensor.dat is somehow linked / connected to the SIM.CFG and removing the one is causing the other to not work properly?

Note:
Their ability to spot me in the conditions mentioned above are reduced but it’s what happens after that ticks me off.

I'd also like some suggestions on how to dull the enemy sensors a bit in TM - I'm not sure what to change.

Did you read the readmes?

Or the TM thread?

Ducimus specifically explained which files to scrag and in what order to dumb down the sensors. That'd be the place to start

You mean this part...?

Quote:
10.) The AI is too hard!!!

So you say. If your utterly convinced the AI settings in Tmaru are beyond your tactical knowldege and ability to succesfully command a submarine, then disable Tmaru, and then delete the following file:

/data/library/AI_Sensors.dat

If the AI is still beyond your knowledge and ablity to command, then delete from Tmaru

/data/cfg/sim.cfg

If the AI is still too hard after that, i beleive you have alot of reading to do about Submarine tactics, how to avoid being detected, how ASW works, and how to evade it. .
Yup I did.

That still doesn't explain the part as to why the DD's stop all together after they loose me, never to return to the convoy.

So the question remains.

Could it be that the sensor.DAT is somehow linked / connected to the SIM.CFG and removing the one is causing the other to not work properly.

You removed the sensor.dat from the TM directory, right? Not from the game?

Dunno what happens if deleted from the game. If you rtemove it from TM, then it doesn't overwrite the default, and so it should use the default file.
