Almost killed myself

So im running a mission against the Yamato in shallow waters (always makes me think of Starblazers).. Anyway due to mods the Yamato isnt easy to take down, especially with the realiability of the early torps.

I get in close and fire my 2nd last torp, only to have it do a complete circle and come right for me, and by the time i realise whats happened, its too late to move. Lucily it just buzzes past the side of the boat as I hit flank and full rudder. It comes around the second time and barely missed again.

I didnt end up sinking the Yamato, but i had disabled her. She was sitting deep in shallow water and not going anywhere.

Ive never had a torp do that before, but it was great fun, while being a little scary. :P

The only circular run I had was interesting, too. I was at a complete stop and fired two torps at a crippled ship. Next thing I hear and see is the sub shaking and the messages "torpedo impact" and "we're under attack". The circling torpedo must have hit the tip of my bow. I didn't use external view so all I could do was use the TBT to check my bow - yep, it was missing! All forward tubes were still ok and not a single sub system damaged, and I could still dive to 165 feet and had no reduced surface speed.

So much for realistic damage models.

Oh, yes. The other torp hit the ship but failed to explode. Lovely.
