Default What does everyone do?

As I wait patiently for 1.3 ...

I am intensely curious what everyone here does. Who actually makes up this community? How many are ex-military? I don't want to violate anyone's privacy (I actually looked in the forum rules to see if asking was a violation) but anyone who wants to respond is welcome. I'm just interested.

Me? I live in China and work for a private equity fund that invests in Asia. I was an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves for 9 years. The closest I got to a sub was when I would take my military ID to Norfolk naval base and they'd let me on various ships as a courtesy. Interesting and fun, both the sub wasn't underway or anything. I used to work as a congressional aide, and one of my former employees became staff on the Armed Service Committee -- they take those guys on subs out of Norfolk and actually let them DIVE THE BOAT. Damn.

Okay, I'm sorry for being hookey, folks ... I didn't mean for this to be a "let's all go around the room and introduce ourselves" thing.

But I have to do something while I wait for 1.3!!!

Dean, I thought you were Secretary of State ...

Have a look through the General Topics forum, it's more a place to socialise while waiting for 1.3.

Me? I oil up models for swimsuit catalogues.

Nah, Retail manager. But i'm young and looking for new stuff. Still might join the defence forces.

I am the vice president of a small IT consulting firm in San Francisco. I spend most of my time on technical projects & try to avoid doing executive type stuff as much as possible, though.

LOL, actually I am a Prosecutor in a small city that once wrote a very very long paper on Secretary Acheson.

As you can tell by my 'join' date, I started here about the same time I started law school.

I've got a few jobs, one I train people on software such as Photoshop, 3DSMax etc, two I work as a writer freelance, usually for business publications, but can be anything really, three I design stuff and produce artwork for print.

When I'm not doing that I'm either on here, playing sims, playing with my dogs, beating up my wife (that was a joke by the way), fixing my old Land Rover or flying a glider up in the hills near my home.
