Default Ctd on loading a save

I had a ctd on loading a save so i restarted the puuters and tried again and it worked . The only glitch i have had and it turned out not to be a problem anyway . I dont have enough praise for SH4 and RFB .

Actually I am imagining the usual suspects running to this thread to pile on and then going "oh.... crap!".

Glad the reboot fixed it Sober. Sometimes, I've had to chase my saves back to last Port Call but really wishing to load that fat convoy for another go.

Cheers

I dont have enough praise for SH4 and RFB

Ditto. The only CTD I've had was my own fault. I unloaded RFB so I could check my inputs in the attack screen for learning manual targeting. Tried to load the save game from RFB. You KNOW that's never going to work! I was showing my brother some screenshots today and he was flaggergasted that a computer simulation could be so beautiful and so photographic.

My computer has 3 instant messengers through Trillian, e-mail client running, Skype, programs like Avast! trying to update themselves while I'm running SH4, I never close Firefox, which periodically updates Forecast Fox Enhanced: hey my computer is a mess of concurrently running software. Yeah, Wolves will hesitate for a second once in awhile, but never crashes, never makes a fuss bigger than repeating a phrase of music a couple of times, taking a breath and trooping on. I can use the cool switch with impunity at any time SH4 isn't loading data from a save game, and even then, SH4 just calmly takes back the focus and continues to load its stuff. It is just amazingly stable!

What more can you ask in any game or simulation? It's the best of any I've owned, better than NASCAR 2003, any of the Command and Conquer series, Roller Coaster Tycoon series or Microsoft Flight Simulator '98 (that's going back awhile). Compared to any of these, Silent Hunter III and IV are solid as rocks.

Crash dive! Rocks and flames sighted! Hard left rudder! Rig for silent running...

Nice post Yes it is a great simulation, my favorite is that it is so customizable to level of play\taste.

Good Hunting.
