Default Deck Gun

Well I tried both stern and bow and I must go for bow on the grounds I'm more use to using it in SH3.

I like to charge at the enemy with my gun on the bow.

Bow because I'm "being more aggressive."

Stern all the way. I almost finished the destabilized deck gun mod. I think the bow gun will pitch and roll BAD. The stern gun being on the center of the ship will be more stable.

Well, I voted both, since I'd rather have both, but since I usually only have the option for one deck gun installed, I allways put it on the stern. It just seems more 'sporting' that way, and it gives pursuing destroyers something else to think about besides catching me.

And I swear I get better gas(battery) milage by not having to push a bow mounted deck gun through the water. Kinda like having the tail gate down on my truck, only different.. :p

What kv29 said. Near the center will be more stable when the guns get fixed.

Stern,

It has a greater firing arc and some of the boats dont have crew slots for a fore gun.

It's much more graceful to chase merchantmen on the surface with the deck gun shredding them as they flee than it would be trying to out-reverse them.

I think my best chance against a destroyer on the surface is to run at flank and let them chase me until my stern tubes give them a chance to swallow a nasty old fish. Sushi tastes great and is more filling...with seawater.

On the bow. Anyone get that anoyying AA gun blindside, if you turn the guns your view is blocked

This has to be fixed in patch 3 or im disabling AA guns as well!

I use bow because the only reason I use a deck gun is when i'm chasing merchants.

If you think stern is good so you can shoot when running away there are two flaws in your plan

1. Be MORE aggressive! Come on you're running away, what type of man are you?

2. If you are going to run away, do it like the sissy you are and run silent and run deep. That's the sissy style like me Captain Reaves.

Definetly bow, I like to attack with the target in front of me.

BOTH. Because I once saw a western movie where a vet gunfighter told
a young wanabe that 2 guns are ALWAYS better than 1....
