Sweet. I doesn't seem like they have plans to refurbish it though? Just move it to a new location?

I really want to go to Chicago this year to see U-505.

Will this incled a restoration of the sub, as the sub appears to be in poor condition? I am glad to hear that it will be saved and will be on display again.

Actually it's in a rather unique condition - it's spent 50 years on the bottom of the sea and bears authentic traces of depth charge damage. I've been told that this actually makes it a very interesting relic in the condition that it is.
