Default question about menu_1024_768.ini

hi,

I'm working on a small update to 6 dials simfeeling mod. I want to move text field under the telegraph and depth gauges. So I need some help now

How does the game know that one menu item is under or in front of the other item?

How it is defined in menu_1024_768.ini?

regards,

This is a good question, but I don't understand why do you want to do this...
The textfield position is OK, I think.

Because longer text phrases are covering slideout dials as is shown on picture above.

Ok, now I understanding your problem. You can resolve it with this procedure:
Open the menu_1024_768.ini file.
Find this: Name=Messages; FLB Sale`s 6 Anzeigen
In this block you see this line: Pos=20,-23,700,70
Now replace the 700 with 385
The result will be this: Pos=20,-23,385,70

This modification restored the original length of the texfield.
Enjoy!
Bye

hi,

Thanks for reply It's nice sollution but I like the longer text field because we could see more messages at once. Your idea solved covering problem at the cost of text field lenght. I think that the best sollution could be done only by moving dials over text field but I still don't know how to do that

Not sure what your working on but just find the position as garferi, pointed out, the Pos= for each dial, you will then have to find the slide out command & change the Pos= there as well, probably a negative value on the right side of screen, I would investigate furter but I do not use this mod, I have my own mod that just slides the whole station panel away!

I would like to move messages text under the slideout dial. At this pic it's above dial and I want to change that.

Unfortunately it couldn't be done by editing "Pos=" line.

Sorry I think no easy way to fix this...
I'm using the sorter messege field, and it is good. If you play this game longer time, you will hear the messeges and not read...
