Default Random, more contacts mod

---
EDITED
Go:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=127598
---
The mod:
Increase randomly and within your limits, the radio contact reports in SH3.
For those who cant wait half an hour to find a ship or want a more fun dinamic game.

It's totally random, in every patrol for each route of traffic (single ships), convoys or task forces you can write new random reports probabilities values, according your parameters, you can choose to get a little more contacts or the total area filled with reports.

-------------
EDITED
If you are interested, download it from: http://hosted.filefront.com/Nicolas1979
Added function to show only British or American or both or all countries. (because in gwx contacts appears all in black)
--------------
I'm new to SH3 and I like it very much, no better video game than a submarine sim, i get fun targeting manually and disabling the satelite view, but i was starting to get bored because, give me in reasonable times something to shot!. I was thinking in notes on the map, but that gets out of my scope, (there is a patch for that?). We speak spanish here at Uruguay, sorry if my english...

God bless.

If you use GWX 1.03 you could download this mod for more contacts & capital ships:

Cheers.

And here I am using the original '20/20' mod, because I wanted a whole lot LESS contacts. Silly me.

Thanks

Sure, just put all the routes with 0 probability of report. That way you get 0 reports. Or you can put single ships with low prob. and convoys with a little (10 to 20% for example) and task forces with a little too, thats it suppose to be realistic no?.

Sorry Nicolas, I read your thread a little too hastily & thought you were looking for a mod, in actual fact you have produced quite a nice application:

Thanks heaps, saves time & makes it easier than manually editing!
Cheers, & welcome to SS.

Nicolas,
Welcome to SubSim.
This is a great mod;
I am currently testing GWX 1.04 alpha 0.5 [so it has a way to go yet], and this will be a great tool to use in the testing.
"Keep up the good work"

Welcome to Subsim matey.

This app looks to be a little gem, thank you.

Also, people can make their own Spysat mod now. Whoohooo.

Great! I actually thought somebody would have done this much earlier, as I have been playing with the idea 1 1/2 years ago. The campaign files are 100 % open and you can have your program make all kinds of changes to them.

All the time there were threads where people were explaining how they edited the campaign files (i.e. CTRL-H / search and replace strategies), I always thought why doesnt somebody write a program for that!

What I was also thinking about back then was some sort of campaign file generator. Technically it seemed straightforward, I just couldnt envision how this would make a noticeable difference to the player.

Anyway, good luck!

Thank you very much.
I Hope you can enjoy it.

I made this tool for me a couple of days ago in 8 hours of insomnia light work
i must tell this: it is tested only in a pair of patrols, however the tool seems to write the numbers ok. I you use it, i want to see what kind of mess with the contacts the tool can do!. (or bug).

New experiences on those 2 patrols:
Patrol 1 - Report, convoy west of Spain heading north.
Patrol 2 - Chasing one of this new contacts in 1943 in the mid atlantic i sunk an alone victory cargo (first one i see), after blowing up the ship, i heard a lot of explosions back of the sub (like 20 i dont know), turn the periscope, and i saw little explosions in the water, for me was a mine field, happy i surfaced, but like 10 catalinas planes were waiting for me. I tought: "Weird... good... this is new!."

Greetings.
God bless.

tried it with a mission in GWX, but SH3 CTD.
Does it work with GWX? or does one needs to be at the harbor?

Hi Johan, if I say something wrong here I'm sure Nicolas will put me straight, but, when I made changes to the campaign Rnd layer I had to start a new patrol or CTD, if I edited the Scr & or Lnd layers I would have to start a new Campaign, hope this helps.

Whoops! I spoke way too soon. I can't download and apply anything right now, so I really had no idea what you were talking about. Thanks to Reece posting that picture I can see that this looks really cool!

Once I can set up and play again I'll be getting this one. Good job, Nicolas!
