If you look at real pics of stormy seas they look closer to SH4 than SH3, but I agree they could look better

the whole "storm" environment looks better on sh3 to me ... probably its not really the water but the contrast of the clouds with the water color i dunno ... but it looks better to me

The rain needs work as well, like the volumetric fog, but it is to much of a FPS killer to keep.

Well...I agree with you on the rain...drops are WAY too big....

So i decided to visit the Scene dat file via MiniTweaker and make some changes.

Catagory 31....listed as "Random Wind & Rain" ,has a listing for MinSize and one for MaxSize.
These values set the size of the water droplets.

Stock values are....MinSize - 0.02
MaxSize - 0.08

I changed those values to ...MinSize - 0.0095 / Maxsize - 0.04

I think the rain looks much better now with the smaller size drops, but be your own judge and use any value you want...not too small though!...you still want to see the rain!... and by trial & error...I think these values work well.

PS....Dont forget to remove the copy of Scene dat from your Data file before checking out the new rain!

Now you just need to find you a big o' storm.......
and...of course......

Enjoy! i
