Default Sub won't dive!

Installed w/patch 1.02 and RFB 1.27. Started new campaign and after completing my patrol mission, found a small convoy. Pressed "P" attempting to go to periscope depth. Nothing. Clicked on depth meter at bottom to set dive depth. Nothing. Hit "C" to crash dive. Nothing. Why can I not get my sub to dive? Also, all crew members are at proper stations.

This happened to me quite a few times. Whenever I would order periscope depth, my engines would be set to stop and I'd still be on the surface. For hours after the order.

The workarond was manually setting the depth. The red indicator on the Shallow depth meter indicated max periscope depth. The red indicator on the Full Depth meter indicates Crush depth (max safe depth for your sub).

For reference, periscope depth is around 12-16m for most subs.

Stop using no-cd cracked executables and these issues will disappear.

Probex, thanks for your concern but I'm not using any crack. You need to ask before you assume something or don't bother answering.

Default Dive - Dive

I know we've heard these things before, and we don't like the time involved but I would un-install the game, delete any remnants of it, run a registry cleaner, then re-install the game. Next, the patch. I've been using patch v1.2 and it seems to be behaving itself!

On the issue of no cds, I can say for certain these issues are not related to no cd fixes -- I use on myself. No, I acutually OWN the game. It's just that I don't fancy swapping DVDs.

Not really. Just looking for some "useful" help. Been lurking for years and have always been impressed with the way people have been quick to help others out. Then the one time I ask for help........

"...I had this happen the other day. I found that it was after starting the game and my crew were all badly fatigued. The sub shuts down when that happens..."

Saving while on the surface after cruising around in rough weather can also cause this. When the saved game is restored, the game then decides that's the best time to kill off your crew.

Solution: Save while submerged.
