Problems Installing patch 1.4

Hi,

I purchased Silent Hunter III today and tried to update the game with patch 1.4. This was after solving a problem with installing the game where my cd key did not work and I found that I needed to install the game on the pc main dvd drive instead of from an external dvd drive.

Anyway, installing the patch, it fails with a message of

"unable to install ......... de_menu.txt unknown version"

What does this mean and how do i get around this. The CD was validated ok when installing the game so I dont see what the problem is.

I tried registering with GameShadow to try and register and get my updates through them , but all i am getting are page not found errors.

Any help would be great.

Welcome to Subsim.

This is a known problem. Just delete the txt files the patcher is complaining about. They will be replaced once the patcher has finished.

cool...thanks for that.. I also had that problem with en_menu.txt so i deleted that one too.
