Default Do you experience CTDs ?

It appears as if some people experience CTDs and some people don't. So i've added this Poll in order to try and get some visibility on the problem.

Personally, i've never had a CTD but I know its a painfull issue for some.

ZERO on 1.2
Overall, exactly one, my first day. I don't remember specifically, but it was probably the "A" key.

Never, only testing mods and stuff, and once or twice when setting TC to 8000 in harbour maybe.

Only one, and that was the "A" key.
Now fixed

x2

I think the CTDs have more to do with hardware issues such as drivers, conflicts, overheating, etc than bugs or we would all be getting them, especially the guys with over 50 or 100 hours of gameplay.

I had this happen to me as well. Only issue is that I don't remember exactly what I did. I issued a command then bam! CTD.

Yes, and I would like to keep this out of the bug list for patch 1.3, I do not believe CTD are caused by bugs.....IMHO.

I have had three:

"A" key (once)......known bug that was corrected
Under heavy weather and a convoy present (twice)....clean up hard drive and internet junk......never had any since.

Over 100 hour of play.

I’m not a computer wizard here; real estate and development is my business. It just seems to me though that a game that demands much more system requirements to run would not run as good as a game that has less requirements like SH4 for example. If the CTDs that people are experiencing with SH4 are not related to the game’s design then why could I run IL2 for many years in the past on the borderline computer that I had back then and never experience one CTD? I can also now run Armed Assault Combat Operations on my present system (not that I am particularly fond of that game) and I never have a CTD and it requires more system specs than does SH4. I don’t buy into the notion that it is just a computer hardware issue. That may have something to do with it but IMHO it is more because of the way that the game was put together and designed in the first place. Just my ideas!

What I'm thinking here is the game engine has not been optimized yet. Just a thought on that and stability.

not exactly, but worse it re-booted my machine. of course i hate that. but there have been a few games that do that since i got the new rig.

only one game reboots it regularly, and i dont play that anymore obviously. it was a well known issue with the nvidia drivers. as far as i know the world still waits for new drivers from them....

SH4 only did it once so far, while loadng a save game. it just took a little longer, and suddenly was re-starting.
