Default [REQ] Attack Map tools

I was thinking today about how good it would be
to have the drawing tools {ruler , marker etc} on
the attack map as well as the nav map.
It would be great for ploting targets.

Anyone have any ideas on if this can be done
or if its allready been done?

Not sure, could be as simple as add them in the "menu_1024_768.ini". Simply look at the code for the Nav map, and add what is missing to the Attack map...maybe.

Default Attack Map Useless Piece of $%*&

There is nothing there!!! Without tools & a 360 grid it is a waste of space. I hate to keep comparing SH4 to SH3, BUTT at least you could use the attack map for something. I personally like the 360 Bearing tool, I think it was by Jase or maybe Redwine, better than the one that is out now. No Offense Meant to the Modder, it is just a matter of personal taste and I wish I could get a smart person to tell me how to bring it into SH4. Right Now the zoom on the main map with tools works, but it would have been nice.

Its the same 360 tool as "Pato" did for SH3 we just ported it over (exactly same graphics).
If there is another one we could port that as well...with permisson of course

Default Atk Map tools

I moved the Nemograph (or whatever the thing is called), to the Attack map and wanted to use some of the tools like the ruler and eraser. Wrote lines in the right files with the graphic pages and coordinates. I got some little icons but I guess it just isn't in the game code.

Tried it, didn't work

the attack map with nav tools would be nice, real nice! its very good for close ranges, but not for long ranges.
i was wondering, if a modder, and if there was an interest, for modding the DMA5090,or something like the 360 tool, on the GPS map, somewhat like GW,
that had those pull down sheets of info, to be stationary, say like if your going on patrol from manila, and you can move the
5090 mod to the land mass of china say, ready for your plot information.
it would at least have to be 34 km radius, or 18.3 nm in sh4, this is max range of hydrophones,
but should go out even further, to max range of radar too.
it has to be stationary to do RM problems, and the 360 tool is great, i love it, but it moves with the sub,
which the submarine really needs to do in order to get good bearing drifts.
it then becomes impossible to use the 360 tool, because it moves, but we need to plot from a stationary reference point
in the 5090 way.
i have set the parameters of some of the 5090 RM problems, such as example 25 in the 5090 manual,
for determining course, speed, and position derived from bearings only, a few others i think would work with submarines.
i like the determining course, speed, and position derived from bearings only mission, and practice with it submerged,
not seeing the ship at all, but knowing exactly where it is is beautiful, if you know the position, you know its range too.
i do it to improve my sonar skills, and when submerged, below PD, the hydrophones is the ONLY contact we have with the enemy,
then i plot, and it works great. i make a MB with the map tools, with only 36 points, but a modded one, like the 360 bearing tool,
for sonar and radar ranges, would be great for sh4, and realism.
i think there are some very excellent modders out there that can, if it can.
