Please Sticky This Important!

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=114540
For you guys that might not always visit the SH3 modding section. I think this should be a sticky here as well, as there are some pretty important stuff being discussed here.

I might be incorrect, but I don't see a problem that the posted thread talks about here in SH4 MOD forum... It might be me being blind, but I simply didn't see any problems yet...

I just would like more ppl to join this discussion, and not all ppl check the SH3 forum. This discussion is important for the "total" SH modding scene and I think the more ppl that adds ideas to this the better.

Thing is, i am sure that this discussion will have "implications/solutions" what ever you want to call that for ALL SH modding related matters. So if there is important...developments I just think ppl in the SH4 section should be aware of it...that's all.

I know i participated in that thread, but i just have to say....

Too much politics over there. Im hoping we keep it simple here. Over there in the SH3 modding, theres a long running history of copious amounts of drama that's more related to interpersonal issues then modding itself. This is one reason i enjoy modding SH4 so much. Its a fresh start with no hidden drama or background agenda's to deal with.

Yes, you maybe right but SH3 started the way SH4 has. I'm affraid that eventually SH4 may end up the same way.

It will be inevitable especially as history tends to repeat itself.

The entire situation over there is a result of the mod wars between two rival factions. We dont have that here, and hopefully never will. Sh3 modding to me is forever tainted by it, and frankly i see the current "ethics" thread over there as just another play for more power and clout. Not a conicidence its been instigated by a social clich that is tantamount to a special interest group. Too much politics.

I came here to make the game better, not haggle over personal glory.

My 2 cents. Instant this place gets drama remincent of the Sh3 modding past, im outta here.

I hope you're right but do you not see an eventuality where there will be modding teams each aiming to produce the best package?

I really think it's a sure thing, it's the natural evolution, from many individual mods to a couple of 'supermods'.

Nothing more than that really and some of the nasties may or may not come with it.

Utter hypocrisy and self-righteousness, Ducimus. Your arrogance and enormous juvenile ego never cease to amaze me. You stir the pot over and over while stuffing popcorn in your face and enjoy fanning the flames any chance you get... (you've stated as much yourself) You were eyeball deep in the politics of SH3 modding... just as you are now... for your personal glory.

Politics? Cloak and dagger? You have already gone there and you are eyeball deep in it. Should we hold the hatch open for you? Or are you quick enough to keep it from hitting your butt.

Don't make me embarrass you.

As far as you "quitting" whenever things get dicey... nothing new there, little boy. You'd be back in a few days just like the other times things weren't going your way and you "quit." So GROW UP.

Now, no matter what your reductionist and self serving spin on things may be this week... that discussion over there in "SH3 land" is meant for every modding workshop here at SS in the hopes of preventing some pretty basic problems... not for preventing competition or to "stifle" modding. I think it will have quite the opposite effect AWAY from discouraging new modding... and it is NOT a congressional feud... as much as you may like to make it out to be so.

It is a good thing, not the negative thing you'd like it to be, with every effort to remove "agenda" from the equation in that thread, It is meant to create a better environment moving forward, for all modders including you.

Seriously, people complain and complain and do nothing to try and solve real problems. Wake up, smell the coffee, and get off your high horse. You put your pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us here.

Politics has no place in this game or in these forums. Just take a look at what happened to that thread about Nvdrifter leaving when he made some ugly remarks about Americans. That should be a warning to all about bringing politics especially personal attack type opionaited ones into these forums.
