Default Ground targets

I know it's a submarine simulator, but I guess why no mod made ground targets, which could be awesome for the scripted historical events. As easy it should be as using the ship or plane object with a truck, bunker, etc mesh put stationary on the ground. May I forget something? There's undesired effects of doing this?

There are bunkers ingame but they have no damage model so arent shootable

I guess its one of the last things left to do as it doesnt really affect game play in the sub

It depends, ground units can see you and can shot you. Also your U-boat could be part of tactic fleets, where your mission it's to clean the way to let the Cruisers in your fleet do their job cleanning coasts. The success of your mission would depend upon the success of your tactic group.

Would be a good excuse to finally use the clock in the game. Missions against the clock, do the job before the right time or your fleet would suffer severe loses.

Dont get me wrong I agree with you
Just saying that the modders who can fix this are off in search of better fixes such as AI torpedos and stuff

Things that matter to sailing on the sea
No doubt someone will get around to fixing them

As to adding trucks etc I know of one preson that has made a truck but as with all new units the more you have the longer the load times and I am sure most ppl would rather have a new ship than a truck

Aha, the truck was an example, but for the part of making possible for cruisers acomplish an objective on the ground more than destroy the ships anchored in the harbor, all this with your U-boat's help it's an addon.

It'd be mostly for eye-candy's sake, and in cases where shore defenses actually did consist of tanks (there were a few such cases, actually).

One of the most annoying things in the game, if you ask me, is that shore defenses cannot be destroyed, as it means that naval vessels can't bombard shore (several battleships lose even to a single light artillery unit).

I've been campaigning for tanks and trucks and jeeps, too, but yes, it seems they're just about as low on the priority list as they can be.
