Default Interior free camera?

How do i activate the interior free camera view that people speak about?

SHIFT+F2 should do it, when you're inside the command room. Then use the mouse and direction keys to roam about!

Thanks for that info. I've asked that question before and never got an answer. I have been wanting to check out the TDC station. I've seen it from the control room, but have been attempting to actually "Sit" or operate at the station as we were able to do in SH III. The manual is very lacking (as are the available commands on the F1 menu) in information.

You won't be able to operate the controls this way (using the free-camera) as you could in SH3, however you can look at them. SH4 seems to have been designed more with the menu bar interface in mind, as opposed to using the 3D interface.
