Default Reich Underground: Terror from Below / The Last Stand.

Fascinating 2 part series on discovery civillisation (repeated saturday 28 from 4pm - 6pm).
Investigating the various secret underground factory sites and V2 production/launch facilities in part 1 and then concentrating on the last stand bunkers and shelters under the citys and deep under ground in the mountains of germany in part 2.

I've always been enthralled by such things, and no less so in this case because of the knkowlege of how and why they were created. Call it a 'subterranian wonderment' if you will

If you have the time, watch it and step back in time 60 years, thankfull that there are only empty, dripping tunnels and rusting V2 combustion chambers for company. For the most part anyway. Perhaps I'll get to see some of them for myself one day?

VERY interesting stuff! Love to go out there with a metal detector, geiger counter and shovel and see what I could dig up.

(Probably an old Soviet landmine knowing my luck... )

You would have to know, where to look. And there are many dangers:

Old munition from the war or from the soviets, certain people who don't like if people like you and me stick there nose in this - so if you find something, better not make it public.

If you find something to go in - where nobody was there for over sixty years, you can be shure, it will be protected by booby traps + there is a chance that if you don't get killed by explosives or sarin (or tabun/soman) - you can still get a boulder from the ceiling on your head...

PS: If you want to read some really freaked out stuff look at amazon for "Reich of the Black Sun" + "SS Brotherhood of the Bell" by Joseph P. Farrell. If you want to read only one - take the second.

Yeah, there's a few odd sods around here still, a friend of mine found an old grenade once over near Bentwaters. Then there's Orford Ness...another place I want to have a nose around, all sorts of interesting stuff made up there...COBRA MIST, the trigger for Britains A bomb. Of course, that's if the whole area isn't off limits...which interesting sites usually are.

I'll have to have a look at those books, I've heard a fair few things about the Nazi occult and the Schwarze Sonne, Himmler's lot were VERY spooky people...and that's being very reserved.

Just finished reading reviews for both of those on amazon... lol

but an intriguing lol at that

I hear echoes of Return To Castle Wolfenstein!
All that secret spooky nazi stuff; I wonder, did they have lithe chicks in leather catsuits also... beautiful but deadly
