What does this mean ?
When clicked on green bar ( in yellow circle ) it reads 1 obtained from 1.....
![]() Devs need to do a lot of explaining of some things they have put in this sim which was not printed in the manual or any readme. ![]() Although this was taken during the 1.1 patch I doubt it was changed in 1.2. :hmm: Another thing if you notice that both fore and aft deck guns are shown even if I do just have the fore deck gun ( changed positions at begining of career, now on 4th patrol ). No AI can use the fore deck gun as only I can use it.........crazy. 1.2 patch still has both guns showing in Sub Management ( F10 ) and again I alone can operate it, but now shows precentage bar. Still I don't see why both guns are shown to be aboard when they are not really there. The AA gun was just fixed from a refit but it broke ( again ![]() ![]() ![]() A lot of work for you Devs yet, but the question is "will you ?" :hmm: ![]()

It has been trial and error for me when working with crew management. I dont know what the 1 from 1 thing is either, but I dont think it means anything important(just a guess).
As far as the guns go, I think that it will probably mention thatyou have places for the guns even though there is no gun there, but it SHOULD allow you man the gun at whatever position it is, bow, stern. I guess I've basically told you nothing. |

Read the thread called "Assigning crewmen, help wanted" .
Gspecter wrote "I think those "Special" Skills are those little Pics you see at the top of the Crewman sheet. The more Skilled someone seems to be, the more pics they get. When you point at them, they will tell you what they are for. They seem to start out Light Yellow and end and Red. I think 4 is the max. Not so sure as to how these work either as far as assigning. I would like to cross train 1 Crewman in many fields but I don't think you can as far as "Special" Skills go." It may have to do with how good the section is manned. |

The Petty officer next to the green bar is highlighted but I'm refering to where my cursor is ( right on top of the green bar which in pic is clicked ) and instead of it giveing me a percentage of that deck watch group it says.....1 obtained from 1...............1 obtained from 1 what ?? This could be usefull info in the sim but as the Devs do not seem to want it printed so you the player knows something about his/her sim it leaves much in question.

From looking at my screen last night (first game after installing 1.2) it appears as efficiency of the compartment is a fraction. Mine were all showing as .43, .92 and the like, with none of the green bars being full. Full would be 1, in this case, meaning you got full efficiency from the compartment, or 1 out of 1 as opposed to 1 out of 2 (50%). It is a strange way of conveying that information, though.

Well if thats the case I'm going to have to get very stearn with my crew. Now hear this USS TUNA crew. As of this moment you will keep your compartments green bar to the top. No exceptions ! :rotfl: Now I'll probably mysteriously be washed overboard some dark night on the Pacific. ![]() ![]() Thanks for the info Quillan. ![]()

I would think it would be more realistic to only allow 1 or 2 sailors to be assigned to damage control in port. The deck gun and DC would only be fully manned when battlestations were called. You would need to set which crew members from each compartment would go to DC or the deckgun. These sailors would show up on station upon calling battlestations by themselves.
It also would have been nice to have a medical area and a mess area to recooperate wounded. maybe allowing 2 crewmembers in each area till they get healed enough to return to duty. Mess deck area for broken bones, missing fingers, ect. Medical for flu, std's and bumps to head.
