Default [TEC] IJN sonar setting question

A number of people have worked on tweaking the sensors, but is the chance of an ASW platform using one or the other controllable? You read a lot about escorts driving around pinging, even when they have no idea a sub is around, is that possible to mod?

I believe the escorts, and infact all ships have two settings, safe and alert. Safe they buzz along, fat and happy, if a sub is detected nearby they go to alert, ping, search, signal etc.

Could it be possible to change this, maybe...maybe not.. they are still listening when in safe, they just use passive sensors. maybe you make the active sensor of sonar be used in both...

Could a workaround be just as good... maybe add a weak pinging noise to the destroyers ***.val files maybe in addition to their prop noise.. dunno...

I was thinking you could even clone an escort type or 2 and have them be the "active sensor" version that drives around banging away on the sonar and add them as a % chance to some convoys if it was possible to set.
