[REL] Fleet carrier Kaga

IJN Kaga and her sister IJN Tosa

This is a copy of the Shokaku…in all aspects.
Visually they look this same, however the Kaga had a Japanese circle on the bow deck and only one side smoke stack…my pc doesn’t seem to like to mod the DDS file for some reason…so anyone who can please let me know how. Im just trying to get some ships out...mainly working on Merchants but someone asked for some more Aircraft Carriers...thought this would work for now.

ADD: CVKaga=Kaga Fleet Carrier to the names file

Hey, that's great! I was looking for an example on how to clone an existing ship. Did you just rename the files in the shokaku to kaga or is there something else involved? I tried making a new class of light cruisers for the dutch but all the animations and guns are missing.

The only remarks I have is that your readme is named "New Microsoft Word document" and well, it's a .doc. Just use a .txt.

As for the .dds editing, I can load the .dds files in the Gimp with a plugin I found here. Never really bothered to change anything yet though.

Yes I renamed everything so not to cause a game conflict...or CTD...not sure it would have but did it just the same...thanks for the comments since its my 2nd conversion try...

You have to change over the weapons, and change over the skins file...by adding something showing where the skins is:

Tosa was never converted to a CV. There was only one Kaga Class CV.

Tater is right - the Tosa was sunk as a target in 1924 (without being completed either as a BB or CV) under the terms of the Washington Treaty. I'm too tired to go into details right now, although I usually find the Washington Treaty quite interesting.

You have to go into the equipment file and change the weapons to ones in SH4...find similiar ones....I had a DD with BB deck guns that is funny...but not practical...but you get my drift. CHEERS MATE

This seems to be causing a CTD for me when I flick through the Recog Manual. I get to the first carrier in the manual and as soon as I click on next page I get a CTD.

Any ideas.
