Down'd Pilots ? You Don't See Them In The Water.
Until your watch crew call them out . Was in the QM Midway and after I had sunk the BB and a DD , the rest of the task force moved away. When I came back up there were about 30 "blue sqaures" in the water all around the area. I went to the nav map and steered the boat to be on one of them , my 0 to about 200meters of the blue square. I went to the bridge and nothing I looked about for about 5 or 6 mins, using the naked eye and then with my binoculars, there was nothing there, no pilot to be seen. I went back to the Nav Map and plotted the course to the next blue square, leaving the one I had been looking at for the last 5mins or more, when that BS was about 200meters to my stern I get the shout "Ship Spotted". I look at the map and the BS I just left had turned from a BS to a Chute icon, when I reversed the boat and got back to the exact position I was when I last looked for the down'd pilot, there he was clearly bobbing about in the water where he was not before. So I guess that in Career too, that if your mission is to save down pilots, can can't see them from the Bridge until you Watch Crew see them 1st (or in other words they don't appear until the crew see them) Anyone else seen this ... |

Since you saw a blue square magically replaced by a parachute, my first guess would be a graphics problem at your end - driver/unsupported card/conflicting software etc. Difficult to be sure though without seeing it and it could well be a bug. r. |

Yes I have seen pilots:

I have seen them. In fact I posted some screen shots earlier because I was amazed that they were actually swimming. It is pretty cool to watch.

I'm trying to pick up pilots and it's pretty much useless. I submerge and use sonar to see where they should be, then head there on the surface at flank, and they're not there. When I submerge to find them on sonar again, they're just as far away as when I started. I'm almost 90 miles from where the battle occurred and the pilots still keep showing up ahead of me. Each time they're about 4-5 miles ahead, I go there at flank, and they're still 4-5 miles ahead. The game shows smooth seas but acts like there's at least a 20 knot current. If I can't ever catch these guys, I may as well give up and do my assigned mission.
Edit: I'm now over 125 miles from the battle area and same story. Why do the icons on the map say the survivor is "slow" when they're obviously faster than a surfaced boat at flank? Last edited by Tobowsi; 04-02-07 at 10:14 PM. |
