Default stingy crew promotions and medals

Ok I sank 75,000 tons on a patrol and while i got the victory cross (navy cross) all my crew got was 1 wound medal (purple heart) and nobody was even wounded on my patrol. Anyone else getting this as well?

Wound medal may not be associated with wounds.

I don't think the wound medal is linked to wounds at all. I think it's just another medal in the hierarchy. I really dislike the game's designed medals.

SH3 gave out way too many medals for too little effort. I don't have a feel for SH4 yet.

First 2 patrols I've gotten the Medal of Valor...really nothing to work towards now I actually enjoyed giving out medals in SH3 I guess due to the smaller crew. I would be standing on the bridge and see my watch officer loaded with medals and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but now I just give them out to whoever my mouse happens to be over.

Same here... 1st patrol (before patching to 1.1.) I sunk 62,000 tons and was awarded the Medal of Valor (equivalent to real life Congressional Medal of Honor).

Too much IMHO, probably a Navy Cross (in-game Victory Cross) should have been more reasonable.

And my crew got a lot of Wounded Medals even if no one was hurt. The Wounded Medal in the game is just a normal medal no really related to a Purple Heart.

I've gotten a wounded medal and a dead guy. Should I not give it to him posthumously?
