Default Will escapes, sinkings, abandon ships be allowed?

Hi all

Ok,, so the sub is stranded on the surface, sinking slowly,
can I abandon ship? will friendlys or hostiles pick me up?

stranded on the bottom, , blew my last ballest, stern is flooded, no hope,
can I try for a free assent and hope to have a few crew survive to tell the tale?

daamaged,, clawed my way to the surface and in a fury of fire,, can I order "abandon ship" to save some crew?

I am hoping for more realistic endings than in SH III

Looks like SH4 will be similar to SH3 in this regard. Perhaps in SHx....

Oh, and welcome to Subsim.

Oh, and welcome to Subsim.
At least we will get an animated 'death-screen' showing us how we were killed. That's what an improvement.

I was going to say that too, but it would have ruined my blunt Arnie answer.

We do, in SP? I assumed this was still an MP only feature.

That's fantastic news if true!

I'm not sure but I thought that we'll get it in SP. Never thought that we could get it in MP.

I can´t understand why is so difficult for the developers remove a death screen and left your boat in the game with all things disabled or fllooded in the botom until you hit "Esc" key .

some sims like Il-2/Fb- do this
