I agree, the GWX moon is huuuuge, especially with the new camera.

Ail's hi res moon mod has a small moon option. It's not JSGME compatible, you need to rename the file and put it in the texture folder manually like it says in the readme.

Here ya go: http://s19.quicksharing.com/v/7247302/ail_hi_res_moon_v2.5_mod.rar.html

Apropos the moon...

I noticed a star inside the crescent of the moon the other day, which is of course a physical impossibility. I'm going to see if it's possible to make the moon opaque.

I hate the enormous moon as well, I used to have ails smaller moon and it's great, but when the 16k atmospheric mod was first released I came under the impression that this moon wasn't compatible with it. Does anyone know for sure?

You mean to say you don't have plans for the moon to be viewable through the middle of your ballons

Just open scene.dat with minitweaker, and select SkyObjRadius in the pulldown menu, and change the moon radius there.

I guess that this approach isn't correct Ref. That radius refer to the sky radius position for each astro not the astro radius itself: the moon comes first , then the sun and for last the stars. The size of the moon (or the sun) is really related with it's tga.

Where is the Moon.tga located?:hmm:

And I assume you could place any graphic there and have it replace the moon?

That's no moon that's a .........:rotfl:

Well if its the tga, the small moon in the link I posted above works fine.

You're right, I've misinterpreted the data

The correct size is the same that the sun.

both have the same radius in astronomy, about 30 minutes .

And did anyone actually measure the radius of the GWX moon? It can seem to be too large, but if the radius is 30', it's correct. I cannot measure it right now, but I'm sure somebody has his game launched and could do that.

Remember, that when staring at moon through binoculars or periscope it should appear much, much bigger than 'normally', when you don't use optics to look at it.
