Default Spambot retaliation proposal

After reading a post on this forum about spam on the internet, and following the recommended www.419eater.com link, I'm interested to know if anyone on here is willing to bait these spammers who have infested Subsim and, like a bad smell, have lingered and irritated everyone.

What do you think?

The spammers are under control. We have been systematically deleting their threads and banning their IPs. We only see one or two per week, and they are dealt with both quickly and with prejudice. This is to be expected on a forum as large and popular as SubSim, and the less time you spend on them, the better everything will be. Remember, they are here to get attention.

Especially since we changed the forum registration procedure in November last year (verification questions). Spambots really are no longer a problem here for the time being.

They're the people who join, post long threads in forums, then never return.

For example, the most recent one is in the Sub Command forum, the name is unitestore

Those are spammers too, but the ones in question are corporate, as they are trying to sell something.

Basically, we should lead them on a wild goose chase, make them run around doing things for someone who doesnt exist :P

It'd be hilarious to watch them scurry about thinking they've roped a $10,000 deal, then get brushed away :rotfl:

I'm all for retaliation against Spambots, pity there isn't some kind of EM surge we can send to Spambot creating computers.
