Default Advice to all kaleuns in the Med

Reposted as a separate thread :

ADVICE TO ALL KALEUNS IN THE MED :

If for some reason you have to make a stop in Lampedusa, plse note there is a huge subnet across most of the harbour. Do not try to head directly in the harbour from the south, the two free channels are located near the lighthouses East and West of the entrance. Depending from which side you come, plan a route to the nearest lighthouse and stay close to come in...

That's what I usually do for serious stuff (NYGM career)

Just thought I would enjoy some nicer and warmer weather in winter while testing GWX...

well whats the point of the med ? i mean you have a smaller boat, the pond is small,
the main battle with the uboats was in the atlantic (AFAIK), to little space between land BUT there is one good thing about the med......the water is pretty:rotfl:

It's also kind of sentimental... I was for 10 years sailing instructor based in Antibes on the french Riviera and also worked some time convoying sailboats from Hyeres near Toulon to Greece... So I am visiting a lot of places I know...

By the way for GWX team : who ever found there has been in WW2 a harbour that size at La Maddalena ?

Another piece of advice
Dont try docking at a port thats not a ingame uboat base
Chances are you will end up on land :rotfl:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=103599

Well you will till the Jan update
If I feel like altering them
Personally I like to see the uboats beached for sneaking into friendly ports

And watch ouy for Goering's little helpers just north of Lam.... 3 different patrols I was so close I had fired, and the ships were sunk right in front of my nose!!!

The last time my eel hit before the ship went down, and I got credit for it - the rest, just wasted torpedoes....

Yep I knew about the bug.

I never said I had been docking there... I said I made a stop, which is something different... Just spent a couple of days at high TC inside the harbour at anchor waiting for better weather, which eventually came. This is what friendly ports are made for as far as I am concerned, otherwise why taking the pain of putting them there ?
Now I am back at sea with beautiful weather again, no problem.
