Default Deck Gun Question

Is the Deck gun in GWX only supposed to have HE shells. I see only HE shells on the screen.

The ammo count is always 0 until I click on the shell and then I get 110 rounds.

Is there something wrong with my game load??

Appreciate any advice and fixes.

I believe this is the case with GWX - only HE ammunition.

Yes. This is quite normal. Uboats had only HE shells. Also when the Uboat surfaces, the DG has no ammo loaded, so you have to load it yourself; that´s the idea on getting zero count at the beginning.

Default Danke Sehr

Thanks for the quick replies.

I wonder if I can go in and Mod this back. I loved getting into a convoy and putting a Star shell behid a target to outline it and then fire..

I thought Star shells, White Phosphorus, and Armor piercing were the norm...

No, just HE. They better have increased the quantity to make up for the others because I've killed several ships with starshells when I'm out of HE and AP.

I think you'll find that the loadout is as near to historically acurate as they could make it.

Yes, the amount of desk gun shell and type are historical accurate

If you want AP for type VII, delete that patch... GWX is designed for high realism players, and all settings are made to be as historically accurate as possible

However, I usually load the desk gun first when I'm going to patrol grid (that won't take long). Like U-571, I can use the desk gun instantly whenever I wish 'cause it is loaded (Should U-571 needed to get its gun loaded before attacking the German DD, would that Nazi DD be fooled that U-571 is still friendly and thinks that Enigma is still safe? Would it send a report to Donitz immediately? I'm sure she would)
