Default Possible Balance of Power Change in Senate?

Hey there...well, who would've thought that a medical emergency would've shifted the Senate back to the GOP?

Tragic circumstances but this could change things. (For better or worse depending on your preference.)

I'd say that unless he actually dies or resigns, both unlikely scenarios, he'll hold the seat until his regular term expires.

I do have to say that I think that the media's focus on this is in poor taste. All they seem to focus on is the politics of it all. How about the man's life, for cryin' out loud. I'm sure his family doesn't care whether or not the Democrats lose control of the Senate right now. Here's hoping for a quick recovery for the Senator.

Seconded. The media should talk about Senate control shifting only if and after he passes away.
