Default New to Mods help

Not played SH3 for an age. For no apparent reason I installed GW 1.1 and got hooked all over again

But...I am struggling with very slow frame rate when things get busy. I have also loaded on SH3 commander, and had to quit as I went down to 1fps as I let my first fish go

My system is:

2.8Ghz Intel P4 with 1.5Gb RAM. Graphics is an ATI 9600 run with omega drivers and I have an SB Audigy 2 soundcard. I know it ain't new but it should run these shouldn't it?

Any help would be appreciated

Yep, that mod is a killer of FPS.

I had a 9600 when I first d/l GW. The ports are the biggest problem 15 - 20 fps. A suggestion is to goto an outside view and do a 360 deg rotatation to 'load' all the textures. It'll be smooth from then on.

IIRC the sea floor mod is the only one that cant be changed by reinstalling GW1.1 again
You will need the stock textures and replace the enhanced ones

Oops, sorry, didn't realize you couldn't undo the enhanced seafloor just by reinstalling GW and deselecting. Assumed it was the same for all of the GW install options.

Read above RE install

Your system is way better than mine and GWX runs ok
Slows down a bit in harbours but then only have a 1.79Ghz Processor and 1Gb Ram and a crappy Radeon 9250 card :rotfl:

So far GWX has been reported to be the same (or slightly less) type of system impact. GWX will run fine on your sys.

I'm in a worse boat as you are in terms of computer specs. In general GW and GWX need quite a bit of CPU and RAM. I have only 512MB RAM but I also have 3.3GHz CPU so the game runs fine. If you have no problem in running GW you should run GWX as well. You might see some low frame rates and ocasional freezes in the screen in harbours and in places with loads of graphics but in general the game runs without any problem.

Just re-install GW and make sure that the enhanced seafloors option is not selected. My specs are lower than yours and GW runs just fine.
