Default CPU loss

Last night ran into some issues with Windows no longer loading and stating files were missing. Put in the Windows disc and it basically said everything is corrupt will reinstall. After reinstalling windows I was looking at a vanilla copy of Windows. All my stuff was there in Windows explorer but of course would not even begin to run any of it.

BUT my info was there, was able to burn up some CD's with all the things you cannot lose. Pictures, keys etc.

After that formatted the drive unconditionally and reinstalled Windows clean. Starting to put things back now after getting everything up and running and pulling all the updates from Windows update.

Of course first thing going on is SH3!! LOL But it is a HUGE download, killing time now in here while it downloads all 1.66 gb of it.

But no worries, The cpu is flat screaming right now after being relieved of all the crap that accumulates over a year and half. Looking forward to testing out SH3 on it and then of course my beloved Flight Sim.

Amazingly, I am really beginning to think a format once a year should be required!

It's like night and day.

I totally agree. During the year a lot of small unimportant files stacks up on the HD. Those small stupid files grows in numbers, and demands alot of resources...
I have to buy me a new HD to do all the backup on, or i will have to buy 50 Dvd's.....

Seth, if you throw away your p0rn
you only need 1 DVD to back up your files.

saves 49 DVDs
or a new HD

Usually between upgrades, flukes, and stupidity, my Windows installations last 3-6 months apiece.

Default Brain over reflex

The older I got the slower I got. Loved combat flying sims untill I discovered that flying is best left for younger pilots with better reflexes (hate hitting the ground at 500 mph). SH III (GW) uses brains with some reflex so now I love SH III.

Not into Combat flight sim but have flown it, I use FS2004 flying heavy airliners, namely the 767-300 but my copy of FSX (newest edition) is enroute to me now.

Probably a good idea to have a clean install of Windows before installing it anyway.

Definitely worth the investment for recovering lost data, even from a formated HDD.
