Default No Bold I and II Decoys...Why Not!

I'm in mid 43 using an IXD2 and using NYGM 2.2. In the equipment screen before my last patrol I had clicked on decoys and dbl clicked on Bold I. Confiirmed I wanted it and went on patrol. When I needed to use the decoys, I was told "decoys not available." I checked the CE/propulsion/decoy icon...it was greyed out. Made it back to base, re-fitted the boat out for my next patrol. Went to the equipment screen, selected Decoy's. Bold II's were now available. I decided to try it again. Clicked on Bold II, confirmed I wanted them. Took off on my mission. 30k outside of Lorient I dove and tried the J button for decoys dispensing. "No decoys available" was the message.

According to the ? button and screen Bold I was available in 42 and Bold II in mid 43. Its now July shouldn't I have access to at least the Bold I. WHAT GIVES. Any and all help on this matter is appreciated.

Same here...

July 1942, I took Bold 1 in my IXC and started from Lorient, no Bold in the boat when patrol started. I don't even get a message and the decoy button is greyed out.

Tried 3 times and then I decided to leave without it.

NYGM 2.2 also, sh3 commander, skins, 3d-waves...

Looks like a NYGM problem.

Albrecht: I'm not using SHCommander. Have only added something new a skin, but the problem has existed for a least two weeks beginning with my last two patrols. Would be great to sort out being how important decoys are in mid 43. I also get the "Sonar Destroyed" message right after I open a saved game during the last two patrols.

I'll go back to a late 1942 patrol save, when bold I became available and see if the icon is greyed out and indeed there are no decoys available.

The absence of Bold is a known error in NYGM 2.2, affecting some U-boats only (mostly Type IX, I believe).

The problem lies with file data\cfg\basic.cfg. It is rather difficult to explain, but if you search through that file you will find a lot of references to:
Subsx1=PropellerFort
Subsx2=PropellerStarboard
Subsx3=Decoy_Launcher
where 'x' is a number between 1 and 9 (I can't remember the exact numbers, and it doesn't affect all of them).

These occurrences should be changed to:
Subsx0=PropellerFort
Subsx1=PropellerStarboard
Subsx2=Decoy_Launcher

Sorry about that. If you want to attempt to fix this problem yourself, be sure to make a back-up copy of your original basic.cfg.

Otherwise, there will be a fix with the next update of NYGM.
[Actually, I believe DTB made a patch for this fault, available at Wolves at War (see signature). However, I can't find it.]

Thanks Stiebler, it was an easy fix.

Scroll down to [SUBMARINE2], scroll to Comp8=8, change these:

Comp8=8; SternTorpedo
Nb8=3
Subs80=PropellerFort; ------------------------------------Renumber these
PropellerFort=22; E_PropellerFort,
TimeRecovery80=3; ---------------------------------------
Subs81=PropellerStarboard; ------------------------------
PropellerStarboard=23; E_PropellerStarboard,
TimeRecovery81=3; ---------------------------------------
Subs82=Decoy_Launcher; ----------------------------------
Decoy_Launcher=42; E_Decoy_Launcher
TimeRecovery82=1; ---------------------------------------

Click File and save. Roll back Commander first!!!!!
