yeh I just noticed this. I think its the correct decision and we cannot be swayed by promises of retribution. I can't understand why we won't go in and fetch Mugabe.

Really, we can come up with a much longer list of names and I don't think Mugabe would be at the top.

In the hope of fostering peace, having his sentence commuted to life in prison with no parole is far worse punishment you know as I do...and would give no fuel to the martyr fire....Honestly I look to see this happen.I think the lack of limelight would drive him insane probably.

Sorry Iceman but I don't see that he has enough supporters among the populace to be a credible martyr.
And from the iraqi point of view having Saddam in prisons with the posibility of breakout during a civil war situation is much worse than killing him off quick (after due vudicial process or coarse

). If he got back into any type of power there would be hell to pay for ordinary iraqi's.

And being killed like a common criminal is humiliating enough for Saddam.
