I may have found a reliable U-Boot source

That is right. He lives just one house up from where i live. I will try to confirm that he was in the U-Bootwaffe.

Please be patient, as I get information from him.

Nice dude, make sure if you do talk to him, record it or something!

The emergency room near my house has a really old doctor that was a medic for the Germans during WW2. Every once and awhile when your in there he'll let out some little bit of information.

Well I'm a Commodore! Take that! I fulfill a necessary bureacratic position! Plus I get all the rum I like and deal out the lashings. Sodomy is of course not an issue.

And I have been an XO for quite a while. Chief also lasts very long.

If you can get your source to talk it will be a great source of info for the community.

His first name begins w/ a "w" and lastname "k".

The reason I will not give his name is that I dont have permission to do so.

Im just guessing, but Adolf, at the time before and during WW2, was probably about as common a name as Hans.

edit:
If the guy was really in the uboat service, or really a vet of WW2 in general, so long as his poltical tendencies aren't National Socialsm, id listen to what he's have to say. People who were alive back then are living history books, and it would be a shame to not hear their stories before they die of extreme old age.

Its a shame really, in our hospitals in the US, WW2 vets are sort of just stuck in a home (its what we do with our old people), and just fading away. Its a shame we all can't take time out from our rat racing living to hear their stories.

Ah but many WWII vets will not talk about the war. Too painful or what, they just won't talk. I've seen many that are that way.

Thats all too true. I think vet's in general don't talk alot about stuff they'd rather forget. Double edged sword i guess.
