I just wnated to say thanks to Drebbel for posting some screenshots that I hadn't seen yet. So, thanks Drebbel and keep it comin'.

I really love the detail on the new models and the other graphical improvements, still doesn't look like I'm gonna get my beloved transparent water, oh well.

I've seen all of those before scattered all over the internet, but now that they are in one place, I can see them more closely. These are the ships I can see:

Battleships:
Definitely Yamato class.
Definitely Fuso class.
Maybe Kongo class? (no clear shot, and only visible in a couple)

Carriers:
These are only in the background, but I can see one which definitely looks like a Shokaku class carrier. In one shot, I think I can see a Junyo next to the Shokaku, but my eyes might be playing tricks on me since I just got out of bed.

Heavy Cruisers:
- Definitely Takao class.
- Maybe Mogami class? Almost positively certain that is what it is.

Plus destroyers, which I cannot identify right now.

Does anyone see enything else here?

BTW - although there has been debate over whether or not these are actually screenshots, I think that at least most of them actually are.

You should add a bubble to the shot of Dan reading his book and ask for suggestions. Mine would be "What is this AI they all keep talking about?"

Just kidding, Dan!!!

I noted some neat graphical things which I can't quite figure out -

Look carefully at the waterline of the ships/subs. What does it look like to you?

It seems to me like they added some 'shiny' effect from when water had just washed over a metal surface, and/or a partially transparent water surface....

Or am I seeing things?

If you mean that it looks as if the water runs off of the hull of the ships after waves hit them, then yes, I've noticed that, too. See the submarine in post eight.

It might just be my imagination, though.

Bah, what I'm waiting for is cooling-water outlets on the sides of the boats and ships:p.

They are in-game, presumably showing the "Old Movie mode" you can set the game's graphics to.

And water draining out of vent-holes as we surface, and water running out of scuppers when surface ships plow through rough seas, and...

Maybe in the next generation of sims. Hope I'm alive to see it.
