How do you place ships in port facilities, docks, etc.?
May 10, 2006
To whom it may concern, This is probably a hair-brain question but I have not been able to find an answer for it. After port facilities have been entered into a mission, how do you get the ships you want placed in those facilties? I am a novice at this. Please assist! |

Place the boat on the map next to it, then zoom in and very carefully move the boat alongside the dock. Assign the boat to have a transit tactic and use the first waypoint to point the boat on the correct heading. Don't forget to set the speed to 0 knots and to find water deep enough (It gets tricky to park carriers sometimes...)

Make sure you have the 3d view on the right panel as you try to move it around.

Another item that's very important but often overlooked. Create a Wind Region and a Water Region around the port facility, and set the wind speed and current speed to zero in each region. Otherwise, your vessels will drift and run into their docks and/or each other, creating havoc.
