Anyone figured out how to fire off the fish boresight? So far it seems a target lock seems necessary. I'm not looking for speculation here I've tried it lots of ways. If you have a way that is TESTED please share...

Not sure quite what you mean by off boresight but you can setup quick shots with the tdc. Fast 90 attacks for example or other bearing attacks where you aren’t locked on to the target but fire by just aiming with the scope/tdc.
RAM has done a good tutorial on the TDC and also XLJedi. |

My hope was to find a way to fire off a boresight shot in line with where I am currently pointing my boat -- w/o first locking a target. Still have not found a way. So thanks for the video link, though he did not offer a method wo a target lock. Here is what does work.. its finicky.
1. Ensure you have two officers working - one on attack scope or UZO and one on the TDC. ** this is the step I was missing. WO an officer assigned to TDC you can go there yourself and change Speed to Zero but the gyro wont be slaved to the targetting station. 2. Lock target. When the solution is set then pull up the torp GUI and ensure you have a tube selected and flooded. 3. Select your TDC officer to access the TDC and set torp speed to zero. * You may also do this from the little data screen that appears in UZO or Scope view. Be sure to resend the data. 4. Return to your targeting view and the GYRO will be slaved to your view. Apparently its the officer at TDC who has done the slaving by manually setting the lever at the Fire Control Box. Note -- this still does not allow a quick snapshot because in this method you are still locking a target first. The video TDC series on Youtube appears to offer a boresight method wo a target lock but it does not work for me. |

Try this:
Don’t lock anything Make sure you have an officer assigned to the TDC Check that you have selected the right firing controls (UZO or Bridge) and that you have the right tubes set (Bow or Stern). Ensure that the TDC is slaved to the scope or UZO. In the TDC set target speed to 0. If your scope/UZO is also at 0 degrees bearing your shot will just run straight from the bow same heading as the boat. If your scope is at any other bearing the torp will run straight for a bit then turn to the bearing of the scope. Obviously, the higher the gyro angle the more unlikely the hit. For fast snapshots against a evading target that’s how I do it, TDC speed set to 0 and scope also at 0 and aim with the boat |

that worked thanks! I had not been using the Fire Control Station at all. Turns out that a snapshot like this is a manual solution and requires ensuring the TDC is enslaved to the right targeting station.

Set the speed to zero. AoB doesn't matter.
Range It depends. If you are firing straight ahead it doesn't matter. If not, then it depends how far off from 0, and how close they are. ![]() |
