Ta-da!

Variation of Ta-ta, meaning goodbye. I've checked my trusty English dictionary and it gives very little else other than it's informal and chiefly British.

It sounded more to me like "Ta-la", which sounds like a variant of "Tra-la".

I can see where confusion would come from if you're right, though. For an American "Ta-da" is used when unveiling something, a match for the French "Voila". "Ta-ta" is the same though: "Goodby".

I'll double-check when I get to work, I'd used my phone to do it so sound quality wasn't great. . .

Ta-ta may be British but ta-da is more Northern British.

Edit: just checked Mike's sign off for a few other shows and it does indeed sound like ta-la. I've never heard anyone say it like that before! And kranz isn't the only one to notice it - comments from pistonheads.com forum

"Join us next week for more wheeler dealers, Tala"

Always raises a smile when Brewer inserts an 'L'.

When the show finishes I swear he says "Tala." That winds me up no end.

Nevertheless, the sentiment of 'goodbye' is the same.

thanks. much appreciated.

found this over the interwebz, matches what you said:

"In England you would also here more ways of saying goodbye to people. "Laters", "tata" (pronounced "tarrtarr"), "tala" (pronounced tarrlarr), "TTFN" meaning "tata for now", ..."

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Hertha BSC 2:2 -> Fortuna GOTO Bundesliga
(hopefully...)

Still recovering from the match yesterday. It was a thriller till the last minute. I considered driving over to the hospital in the break to tune my pacemaker under 200 bpm....

A pretty unique match.
The Hertha block did a little to much "cheering" for D'towns 2:1 by shooting massive pyros. Düsseldorf's Ultras answered with their little show, but it stayed in their block. In contrast the Berlin idiots shot even at their own players who tried to calm down their "fans".
A little vid of the event can be seen (Berlin block on the camera's left, Düsseldorf supporters on the other side of the stadium)
Long break till the match continued. At the end of the 90 minutes 7 minutes overtime were announced.
At minute 95 (yeah, the Fortuna minute ) this happened: - the match was NOT over yet. I think most people who stormed on the filed thought that the match was over. Players and ref hurried to gtf off the lawn. The coaches and staff tried to get the people off the lawn. Took some time, also some time till Düsseldorf came back, then some sweaty minutes if the match would be called off or if they play the last 90 seconds...

Overall, after 20 minutes they played, Fortuna won because of the previous match, then the people could rush onto the lawn for real.
Now the sore losers from Berlin want to sue in front of the sports court...
Well, the overtime was only because of their "supporters" without their massive pyros that included shooting at the filed and at players the match would have been over in regular time.

Oh yeah: gladly none of the players were hurt during the lawn storm - and the quality of the actual footballing was pretty good!

If you're asking about the injury ??

Sawmill accident. Was cutting a piece of plastic at work and the blade pulled the piece back and my finger was holding down the plastic and was dragged over the blade. Lost the lower tip of my finger but the surgeon did a great job on pulling enough skin together so the wound healed nicely.
As of now I am already back at work, handing out free massages to waitreses and building the plastic model so my ego took the worst of it. Plus, there's a nice waitress that studies medicine and she's fascinated by the finger

And you wont believe the date of the incident. Friday, April 13th
