As far as I know we don't have such a word but we use "beton" or "party concrete" (beton partyjny) to refer to communist people/tendencies etc.

interesting, we use it simular, towards those stubborn stalinistic die-hards, for the (party) group we use "Betonkopffraktion" - "concrete head fraction"

Had a talk with my general manager today. I get more responsibilities, more work, a bigger office and I won't have to work so close together anymore with the damned jerk I had as a department head who tried to have me fired and who wove a web of intrigues.
Doesn't look to bad, as I wasn't sure in the last weeks if I would get kicked off or not.
Though nothing said about more dough yet...

Not sure if that's a promotion - **** it, I'll kill a bottle of malt tomorrow with my best friend anyway!

Well, it's nice weather here, but I'm in work.

Took the car for it's MoT this morning - still not heard any news.

I'm currently commando as I cycled in and forgot spare undies and socks - and I'm going straight from work to meet family for my mother's birthday meal!

Just found out that another friend has died of cancer, that's two this year! She'd been suffering (fighting is more fitting) for many years and we grew up together only a dozen or so doors-apart, she dated my best friend. Although we didn't see each other that much in the last dozen or so years it was always an 'easy' conversation to have with her when we did meet. My heart goes out to her twin sister.

So that's my day - anyone got any good news?
