Ok, my problems of the insignia not appearing was related to not having "high res textures" ticked.

I can now see the ranks. The problem is that they don't relate to the actual ranks of my crewmen. e.g. The insignia of my current watch officer is that of a full lieutenant but in actual fact he is only an ensign.

Still looks great though!

That I think will be tricky to correct as the game draws the "shirts texture" based on a totally different script then what is shown as actual ranks...but...I can have a look later if there is a relation ship between rank and shirt texture...not 100% but worth a look.

Ok had a quick look at this and...

Here I had 2 Lieutenants (JG) and 2 Lieutenants but as you can see there is 3 guys with one color and 1 guy with another color. This means the shirts are not drawn based on rank at all. There is a script for all this, but again I can't really see how this could be tweaked to relate to the actual rank.

If someone would like to have a look, its in:

Yes I witnessed this problem last night/this morning on a patrol and was on my way to this post to share the information...

I found the way to 'free view' around the internal conning tower radar/hydrophone area and noticed that one of my Cheif Petty Officers was wearing Lieutenant insignia...

Guess he picked the lucky shirt.

CaptainCox, your mods for the crew uniforms are all great! Because of that, I'd like to see another, and it's pretty simple: get rid of those USMC belt buckles they all wear! The standard-issue WWII belt buckle was plain brass and had this color to it: (an actual WWII American belt buckle):

Thanks!

Great idea! I remember my Dad's navy belt (from his LT's uniform at Okinawa) well - it was one of his favorite disciplinary tools and the buckle was indeed plain as shown in the post above

"Captain, Chief Evans is wearing my shirt again!"
"That's alright, Mister Parker, I gave him permission."
"But Skipper..."
"Mister Parker, someone has to do the thinking around here, and he might as well be wearing bars while he does it! Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, sir. I guess so, sir."
"Good. Now get back to sorting that mess list."

Not sure but I think there will be a problem with the Dolphins.

If they are added like a texture, they could then be worm by anyone. Has anyone figured out how to let 1 person wear something, maybe a certain tattoo or hat?

I think the best way to deal with the Dolphins it to treat them like Awards, just like in SH3 where you could have only 1 person wear a Badge.

From what I've seen here, there are no individual models for the Crewmen like in SH3. That may also be the reason UBI did not put any Awards or Ratings on any of the Crewmen, because they couldn't. Seems there are several factors that determine the uniform the Crewmen will wear, such as position. I just don't think the Crewmen records are used at all in the 3D world, just on the Crew Management Screen only.

Can someone confirm this?

Almost everyone on a sub is submarine-qualified, and thus should be wearing dolphins.
