Maybe he's just trying to avoid paying his taxes.

Another attempt to keep a tired character fresh and relevant. Apparently, killing him off again might be going to the well once too often.

Bah superman shmooperman he's always been an illegal alien. Who gave him is citizenship anyhow? I never saw Him take classes or an oath. He just falls from the sky and starts telling people he's from around here. Probably threatened those poor farmers. Then just walks in and takes a job away from legal citizens. I say hit the road go back to Krypton ya bum.

But Capt. America? now that hurts, He's a homey better than superman ever could be. But never heard of this NOMAD character until now. Poor Captain America

Don't worry. It only lasted long enough for the writers to come to their senses and realize how bad an idea it was.

In Captain America #180 (December, 1974) Rogers becomes disillusioned with the U.S. government when he discovers that a high ranking government official (heavily hinted to be the then President of the United States Richard Nixon) is the leader of the terrorist organization known as the Secret Empire.


Rogers then decides to abandon his Captain America identity, feeling that he cannot continue to serve America after this latest discovery has shattered his faith in the nation's status. However, a confrontation with Hawkeye (disguised as the Golden Archer) forces Rogers to realize that he cannot abandon a life of heroism, and he subsequently takes on the name "Nomad" (as it means "man without a country") adopting a new dark blue and yellow uniform with no patriotic markings on it at all.


This identity is short-lived, with Rogers maintaining it for a mere four issues of the comic to varying degrees of success; he even trips over his own cape at one point. At the conclusion of Captain America #184 (April, 1975) Rogers returns to the role of Captain America when he realizes that he could champion America's ideals without blindly supporting its government.

Well considering that Superman was an illegal alien, I am surprised more here are not in favour of him losing his "citizenship"

I don't think superman entered this country through an approved portal nor do I think he had the proper documentation.

I think the Daily Planet needs to be fined for hiring an undocumented worker.

More likely a less than subtle attempt to sell more comics by garnering free publicity from the likes of Glenn Beck going on about the controversy. Then, in a follow-up issue Superman sees the errors of his ways and comes back into the fold just like Captain America did. It's a win-win for DC Comics. However, this sort of manipulation will probably turn some readers off as well.
