Yes, certainly. It already works. Some guys have already begun the test of this project. They speak that models are magnificent. But still a lot of work. "Great War: Battle for the Baltic" - the big project: war under water on Baltic Sea since June, 22nd, 1941 till May, 8th, 1945.

Shameless Necro in order to ask a question.

Firstly, assuming Poul still reads this, Fantastic work. This mod is solid gold for the most part.

Onto my question; I've started editing some of the files myself to add more torpedo explosions or change aspects of noises (For example Silent Running causes the captain to say ahead one third, then immediately say two thirds, even though the boat is at one. Something of a immersion breaker).

I made my own Silent running noise which plays perfectly ingame outside the Submarine, however the game crashes when i issue the command from inside the control room. I assumed the game simply played the audio file at the event but it appears i may have been mistaken.

Do i have to register these files? Is there a certain size that is required?

Any insight into the problem is much appreciated

I'm not the pro, but exactly what file did you replace, are you messing with the wav files listed or the speech files, either way they have to be placed correctly which is done by renaming the one you want using the title and path of the one you replace.

Sounds like you have it in the wrong path, thus it crashes. I don't know of time limits. It may be a problem of being in the command room and playing a sound that is placed outside the sub if that makes sense.

I've replace several in Pouls and use it and have had no problems.
Many in Poul's still have the German flavor and had to go. I've got about 100 I've pulled I like, so may have to compare.

I think it's better to make them jsgme ready, just easier to purge if you're having problems.

Sailor Steve is a pro, I would ask him or maybe he'll be around. He has a few sounds listed.

Paths are correct. I renamed my file to exactly the same as Pouls, overwrote his then enabled the mod via JSGME. The file plays fine, i just can't be in the control room. In free camera, everything is fine.

Reinstalled the game and confirmed it's only my file causing the issue. Pouls original and vanilla game files both function correctly.

I apologize for using rapidshare, but if anyone has a moment could you test this for me?

I'm in the middle of a patrol not playing, but when I load up and dock I'll check it.

Which speech file number was it in. Sure you noticed you get many of the same sound files in different speech folders and I'm sure you place it in the one you removed it from. Just got to be
a connection to the sub control room.

Actually i overwrote all the speech file versions with mine, so i have my version in all 9. I know this isn't a problem because the other sounds I've put in like this all function correctly. It's only temporary until i can find the time edit all of them so they're unique.

It's interesting because the Torpedo impact file i made worked great, despite the fact i was in the control room

Quick Bump - The same issue is occurring with the Periscope depth command. This is really weird =s

Or you could download it right from our own server here at Subsim. Isn't life great? This is just one more reason why supporting Subsim makes good sense!
