My mouse seems a bit unresponsive, slow and almost floats in response to my hand movements. I don't know if I have a settings problem with SH4 or XP mouse settings. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Do you also experience stuttering when moving around the SH4 world in the free cam view? i.e. you move forward a bit, the screen briefly freezes, you move forward a bit more, another freeze and so on?
I had the stuttering problem in free-cam view, also the slow unresponsive mouse in all screens. Fixed both by enabling vsync in the display options, after doing that no more stuttering and no more mouse lag. If you don't have vsync turned on, try it and see if it helps. If you already have it on, what are your system specs? Hopefully well above min requirements? DH |

Use the MINIMUM setting in the Graphic Settings submenu and make sure you run it at 1024x768 resolution. That should help. If not, then your system is too slow to run this game.
OR use these settings (the minimum of minimum): ![]()

Along with these, I have found that the target FPS should be around 18 or higher to have a fluid mouse pointer. This means you might have to reduce some of the options you have checked or move the slider back as suggested above to obtain the 18+ FPS. At 15-17 frames I get while on the bridge is fine with me. The game looks fluid. You really need that pointer moving freely while in TBD or scope view. Concentrate on these two areas for the higher FPS. I installed the mod that removed the grainy effect with post process filtering and I gained 2 FPS(upwards of 18 FPS) in these two views. My pointer is free at last to move freely.

Showing my age here, but is it an older mouse with a little ball in the bottom?? If so, the inner workings might have some dust and fuzz built up. It's not a problem to take the ball out, look inside and clean the dust and fuzz out. There are 3 points that normally need cleaning and they are apparent once you have the ball out.
