Also, have you done any work on the torpedo wakes? Compared to the ship wakes, they don't blend in very well with the surface of the water.
Hi LukeFF.
Try this and tell me if you like the new torpedo wake better?

I love that the plankton is back. We need to show love to the 1 cell creatures of the earth.
Truly the South Pacific was clear and blue because there is a relative LACK of plankton in the water... Believe it or not, plankton does better in temperate or even cold water.

Yes, but I'm in a simulated sub in a simulated game and not a biology class :rotfl: I like the plankton. It might be a bit thick in game but there is floating life in the Pacific. Hey, how about modding in some jelly fish?
OK OK you guys, I get the picture, you LIKE the floaters in the water, its just that I live next to the South Pacific (Coral Sea actually) and scuba dive in it regularly, so for me I know what it actually looks like, and it aint full of dangerous bits of waste from the subs sewrage tanks! :rotfl:

If you only knew . . . . .

To OOD- request permission to blow sanitaries overboard . . .

Lessee, how many subs are there if you add all the subs from all the navies?

Oh dear, since loading up the new Pacific Environment mod my sun glare has disappeared .... any hints before I troll thru the search threads? I think it was any easy thing to get back (something to do with gamma correction??) but im not sure, and yes I run an Nvidia 8800 Ultra.

I'm anxiously awaiting a response to your request....I also lost my Glare sometime during a recent MOD manipulation.... I also remember that Gamma was mentioned in the past as being a possible culprit....Also, I was told that having AA set above 4X would eliminate Glare. In one case, dropping from 16X AA to 4x AA immediately returned my Glare...Not this time though.

I have an 8800GTX, and I use nHancer for settings.

Fixed it mate! I went to my Nvidia control panel and changed the settings to "Gamma Correction - Off" and voila, my lovely blooming sun is back. Here is the proof!

I havn't had my computer for a while, the ram shortcircuited and took the hard drive with it, but I was deeply saddened when I heard the news about Leo, my deepest symphanies go to his family and friends. So here is a screeny saying thank you to Leo, Kriller2 and the rest of the ROW team.

It's looking good, but it still looks like the torpedo is leaving streaks of a white chalky substance on the water instead of churning it up, (compare it to what the ship wakes currently render with ROW).

Here's some references:

Clearly visible wake of a torpedo fired by a German submarine

A torpedo striking a British steamer

I'm sure there's more photos out there (and that they're not the best); that's just what I could find with a quick Google search.

Hello
How you can get more ROW = glitter on sea surface. When i look to sun i can see
nice glitter on sea, but if i look to any other way there is no sun reflection on water. i would like to see SROW = suns reflection on water in all directions,
is it possible, what files i need to change , dat text??
Maybe a new addon mod to row, what do you think, is it at all possoble to do:hmm:
I have done some sailing and if you have nice sunny day you need to use
polaroid sun glasses. Other than that wery nice mod.

I played for about an hour last night with the new Plankton (just kidding) mod as well as as swdw's surface draft mod.

Wow. Just when you you've got a beautiful, working install, you guys come up with something even better. Outstanding job, kriller!

The colours to me seem to be just about perfect in this release. Even better, colour banding is finally cut to just about nothing. And I love the plankton. I've got about the same breadth of ken regarding marine biology as George Costanzo, so I couldn't comment on how real it is, but it seems to be much more noticeable at night or dusk, thus making the water seem more murky and atmospheric.

I usually slow down the time to watch sunrises and sunsets in ROW every few game days, but last night I watched them all. Again, great job.
