Why do things like this always happen to the good/smart people...

Lets pray for the best fellas. My neighbor had a stroke a few years ago. He couldn't move his arm, etc. However he HAS recovered. It is possible.

There is hope...

I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

A sad day has dawned...

That really sucks to hear!

I was so hoping Dave was anything but in that situation...

Thanks Torps for keeping us in the loop.

Francisco could read him our well wishes.

Dave is in our thoughts and prayers. He'll be back in these waters, I just know it.

I'd like to add my thoughts and prayers for Dave's recovery to those already expressed by the caring members of the SUBSIM forum. In my short time aboard, I've been impressed by not only his knowledge, but his willingness to help us all. Certainly hope that he makes a full recovery. What a sad and terrible thing to happen to such a nice guy.

Truly sad news - I'm glad Dave's friend was there with him (how much worse would it have been if no one had been there to get help for him like that), and I hope he doesn't beat himself up over asking Dave to go along for the holidays. I'm not sure exactly how far away they were from home when it happened, but it sounds like one good thing some contributions might be used for could be to maybe have Dave transported back to a hospital closer to home where he could have more regular contact/visits from folks he knows.

I hope someone can set something up. I know the whole community is rooting for Dave to bounce back from this setback.

I'm so sorry to hear this...it's so sad. I hope there is a way to get them the funds to get him back home, I would certainly donate.
