I didn't mean to be creating a "standard" for the Sim or anything, but thanks for the votes! As far as 1000 tons or 500 tons, I guess you could pick either, but how's about this for a cut off point....

Anything you HAVE to use a Torp on and it's a Large Merchie?:hmm:

Awesome, I've asked for the USS Barb and USS Billfish. Now if I had of checked earlier, the ideal link for the Patches and Banners is http://www.esryle.com/coblinks/links/SUBLINKS2c.html which you guys posted earlier in the peace so I hope that won't affect my request as it shows different links to patches.

I came across a problem with my kill flag. I just added a new set to my Balao and it looks fine from the side:

but then I noticed this:

Any ideas where I screwed up?

You didnt screw up . This is beyond anyones control . Also you will notice that one side of the sub is back the front beause the sub uses the one .dds file for left and right sides .

Thanks, Sober. Yup, I was aware of the game using the mirror image for the port side . . . makes me want to consider using hash marks instead of a number for the "5 Planes" kill mark.

So, the graphics bleeding over into the bridge station where the commander stands has happened before? Does it happen every time? I didn't notice it before. I wonder if it's a setting in the .dds plugin I'm using for Photoshop . . .:hmm:

Hi letterboy1,

You are doing some great skinning!

We've seen the S class also uses textures over again ( really, just re-calling locations on the texture map instead of providing new texture areas) resulting in what you discovered. Usually this occurs in later years or the mid-tower conversion period of the Tambors.

We should make a hit list of known skins/boat classes and years.

As for the Mirror-flip, try the roman numeral V

Your Fooskin emblem looks great! Please feel free to zip/rar it and we'll add a non-Kill version to the Download a Boat section

Yikes, I'd better make a very fast and loud disclaimer . . . that is NOT my skin! That is the wonderful hi-rez work of FooBor. I only added the emblem. But if you would like the tower files with just the emblem on them, I'd be happy to put them up for you to download. Or I could just send the psd file with the emblem cut from the original picture I downloaded. Or both.

I'd like to. My skills are limited to extracting an emblem from an image and placing it (and kill flags) on a conning tower. I'm not a skinner, but I'll gladly help with the grunt-work. As long as I get detailed guidelines as to the appropriate placement of flags I should be okay. Also, have you officially adopted JimRat's specs fpr what constitutes a large or small merchant?
