I have some questions I hope someone can help me.
I have grey wolves 3.0 I was wondering the following. 1 is there a way to take the rec manual from sh5 with weak spots on the ships and adapt it to gw or sh4? 2 in the torpedo training mission has any one had the following sink all 5 ships then get a objective not complete? 3 is there a ocean floor like the one used in sh4 trigger mod that can be used in gw? 4 is there a way to adapt a sh4 or 5 radio to sh3 gw? 5 is there any new ones or is 3.0 the only one? I must say that this mod is great I even like the explosions and water effects and the removal of the under water boat icon makes it a challenge. I was wondering has anyone had a torpedo in GW misfire? as in explode and it hit nothing? |

For some reason the game always crashes just when the 'not so long ago' appears just before the game starts. Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks ![]() |

That usually happens when there are ship files missing. The game is still loading at that time and when it can't find files he's looking for it gives up.
To help we need to know your system specs and what mods you are running, and in what order.

Interesting....
I'm installing GWX 3.0Gold but found this. The installation is pointing to my C\:Ubisoft folder where SH5 resides. Mind you SH3 is not in that folder but in the Games folder I created. The Ubisoft folder is not in Program Files nor the Program Files (x86) folders. All that's in the Ubisoft folder is Silent Hunter 5 and Silent Hunter 5 Copy. I know others have said their SH3 is in the Ubisoft folder. Is this the standard routing for GWX? And why wasn't a fresh new install of SH3 directed to the C\:Ubisoft folder? I'm still going to do the installation to the Games\Silent_Hunter_3 location, but wanted to see what different thoughts on this are. Sorry to bring it all up again and be a PITA. But inquiring minds might need to know like I do. ![]()

After contact with the enemy? As in you have them in sight?
SH3 is very finicky about where it is saved. You should never save in sight of any other ship, any base or any shoreline. After that, all I can suggest is that you remove all the mods and reinstall them one at a time. Test the game after each mod install. This will tell you exactly which mod is causing the problem. It will also probably kill your current career, but it sounds like it's pretty well dead anyway.

First, try to launch your last mission at the beginning (in the harbour).

Appreciate all your advice. I'll go through the lengthy process of uninstalling all mods and reinstalling 1 at a time to see if it works but I'll have to make contact with enemy each time first and then see if the game save works after that!
