Are you by chance running Norton?
I use to get that all the time till I dumped Norton's stuff.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. When I exit the program it locks, and I get the error you described. It isn't occasional for me, it is consistent.

I'm not sure if it impacts anything either. Hopefully it doesn't cause issues with the data recording done by SH3C.
Comp specs ?
Can be low virtual memory that gives that error

I remember getting errors on exit for a very short while. It ended up being caused by file incompatibility. I think, at least in my case, that I hadn't installed the GWX cfg files into SH3Cmdr. Or I enabled a non-GWX compatible mod. I can't quite remember but it was certainly something as simple as that.

I have Steve's Das Boot sound pack, SH3C 3.0, no other mods. Any ideas?
It's a sound file conflict. You probably have stereo files mixed with mono files.

That's probably true. I just today discovered some stereo files in the Das Boot pack. Looks like I have some reworking to do. Simple, though; it's only the handful of .wav files.

And in my case I have the added problem that BBW mentioned: I have memory problems.

Not me...the computer.

Well, me too, but that's another story.

Norton is a real memory hogg.....use ghost to take an image of your OS but that should be all.
Better off using something like Kaspersky or nod32

Or AVG. It takes only a fraction of the resources to run, is completely free and found a virus that Norton had missed on my system.
Needless to say I've dumped my Norton subscription.

AVG Free Edition is okay, but hardly comparable to Kaspersky and nod32 IMHO.

Yeah, but it works, causes no software conflicts, and it's free.

Adding it up with "Spybot Search 'n' Destroy" and "a-squared" gives you some peace of mind I never had with Norton.

These days, Norton's stuff is nothing more than a resource hog and uninstalling it can break your Windows so badly you have to re-install your OS.

To each his own.

That CTD on exit does indeed sound like a file/software incompatibility or it might even be a file that got mangled during a read/write access. Windows is notorious for sloppy file keeping.

Another good freebie (the older versions) that's well worth having is regvac

Default Sh3 + 1.4b vs Sh3 GWX: Realism Setting

Hi to all Kaleuns of this favolous site.
I'm new to sh3 and I'm still learning to master my u-boot , i've not much time to play so now i'm commanding my VII with the stock mission using only eyecandy mod, I've set a 50% of realism; can I mantain the same setting in GWX with the same difficoulties or i'll be "lunch for fish" all time ?

Hi again to all

p.s. sorry for my english writing is very rusty

GWX just makes the game better... not harder imho. When you stay at 50% you will not get beat up at once by the DDs and DEs.

GWX adds so much to SH3....

Get it I say!
GET GWX! it is an enormous improvment of SH3!

You will not be sorry!

What Grayson02sept1980 said, and if you don`t already have it SHIII Commander 3.0, they go together like eggs, and bacon.
