Just downloaded and installled GWX. Everything seems work fine while below deck. However, whenever I surface and climb up to the conning tower everything slows down to the point where the sim becomes unplayable. My computer has 1 gig ram and the processor runs at 1.8 GHz.

Please reply with suggestions/advice.

If you have slow frame rates I would suggest you try the little harbour mod that comes together with GWX.

If you have slow frame rates I would suggest you try the little harbour mod that comes together with GWX.

By "little harbor mod" I assume you mean Lite Harbor Traffic. Actually, I've tried running GWX with all the available GWX mods activated and then with those mods deactivated and it doesn't make any difference.

To elaborate on my previous post...

I'm using the latest patch (altho the version reads 1.4, not 1.4b in the lower right-hand corner of the screen)
I carefuuly followed the instructions for downloading and installing
I downloaded GWX 1.03 for use with the SH3 Commander program, which was previously downloaded

I can't do a reinstall, as I purchased the digital download version, as opposed to owning the DVD version. I do, however, have a clean back-up of the sim, which runs just fine.

Again, thanks for any suggestions anyone might have.

:hmm:Ive never purchased "digital download" of any game, but i always thought that they are selling an image of the game cd/dvd which you are downloading to your HD and then burning with nero or something. Isnt it so?

IIRC you can D\L the DD version more than once
But you did the right thing by having a back up copy

I do that even with the DVD
Makes reinstalls so much easier

Anyway
When you first go topside let the game run before panning around
IIRC it needs to load all the ext view to memory so stutters while doing so

Once loaded however you should be fine

I used to get that all the time with a 1.79Ghz CPU and 1Gb of RAM
Make sure nothing else is running in the background too
Esp A\V

Thanks BigBoy....I've already deleted the original sim files in Explorer and am now copying the backup to the program file folder. After that, I plan to remove (using add/remove in Windows) the SH3 Commander program followed by removing the GWX files. I will then start fresh with a new download of SH3 Commander followed by a new installation of GWX.
