Only more reason to get the SDK,, if that has anything to do with the game engine, but either way the SDK would make things like hiding on the bottome possible. thanks Ubi for being uptight d-bags

I didn't know that about the air unit glitch. Is there any more information on that?

I've set the max at 32, but am thinking of setting the max at 64 or even 128.

Cruising near land: 128x
Cruising in somewhat contested waters: 512x
Long range patrolling: 2048x or 1024x

As for quirks, I have a crude recognition manual I'm working on. I use that and take notes on contacts, such as distance calculations, estimated speed and stuff like that. When nothing is happening, I doodle in the margins.

Hand drawing units is fun, but I don't have a scanner.

Wouldn't be of much use to a modded installation because it would break things that had been modded unfortunately.

There is a little information/speculation on the forum but nothing much more than I have posted.

How do you get it up to 2048x? The highest I have is 1024x.

IIRC you can up the maximum in SH3 Commander.

I never have, because 1024 is plenty high enough for me when I'm in areas where I don't expect to run into any trouble. 128 is usually the highest I'll go when in potentially unfriendly waters.

And I don't even bother with more than 8 or maybe 16 coming in and out of port, with all the other ships around to be sighted I just keep dropping out of TC every few seconds anyway.

Yeah but if we got the SDK Id expect modders would go nuts and remake GWX and such just so it changes the source code and stuff and adds things like bottom hiding and weeds out glitches.

My computer won't run it above 1024, and that barely. When I'm in a patrol grid I might go to 512. In possible air patrol areas, as others have stated, 128. Near land it stutters badly if I go above 64.

In harbor, real time.

I suspect you're wrong. The GWX team is either retired or working on new projects. As Jim said, it would require everyone to restart from scratch, and that's not going to happen.

That I'm afraid is the reality.

I'm sure they would, myself included but I honestly believe the future lies with SH5 in deep rooted/detailed modification terms.

What do you mean deep rooted/detailed modification terms?? like do you mean another Mega Mod just for SH5?? or like source code modding??

I wasn't referring to source code, we can't get that for SH3 even.
